Awkward Bathroom Disasters

If you want something done right, do it yourself…unless you’re terrible at DIY.

In this current financial climate more and more people are trying their hand at a spot of DIY around the house to save a bit of money and good luck to them…however there are some people who really should just leave the handy work to the handy-capable and put the rusty tools back in the shed before somebody gets hurt.

I have seen some rather strange things in my time but what I am about to share with you is so far-fetched that I am not entirely certain if I am in actual fact imagining it! Take a look for yourself.

Carpeted Bathroom

That right there is one of the biggest no-no’s in the industry. Carpeted bathrooms are (thank God) a thing of the past. Let’s be honest, no matter how good it feels to step out of the shower onto something nice and soft – a simple shower matt or a towel would suffice surely? Why would you have to go and cover the entire bathroom with a material that is going to absorb everything? It is unhygienic, smelly and it just looks darn right silly. Did I really just see a toilet covered in carpet? Righto!

But that’s not all. Here we have a stairway to…well it certainly isn’t heaven is it? We all like the idea of being perched on a throne, but is this entirely necessary? I am not particularly fond of the idea of brushing my teeth in the morning while my girlfriend hoof’s one out on the side next to me and it does not look like there is any kind of small bathroom storage unit to keep anything protected. Planning is everything! Spend a little bit of time thinking carefully about where you’d like everything to be situated after your bathroom renovation. If you end up with a toilet in your bathtub then you’re doing it wrong!

Toilet Selfie

And here we have a handsome Chinese dude taking a selfie in the bathroom. (As you do) Hopefully when he looks back over the picture he’ll notice that while he’s done a fine job of tucking his shirt in – he must have been drunk when he put up the toilet roll holder! I didn’t think toilet roll was something you had to keep out of reach of children; in fact if anything I’d imagine you’d want to encourage them to use it.

Imagine going over a friend’s house and sitting down for a poo without a care in the world and by the time you’re done you realise that the toilet roll is hanging up on the wall on the other side of the wall. You’d have to clench your bum cheeks tight together and crap your way over to grab some. What sort of sick and twisted person would do that to somebody?

All joking aside, as you can see it is quite easy to make mistakes when you are doing some DIY so be careful. By all means, it is good to get your hands dirty and try your hand at some home renovation, though make sure you do your research and only take on a project if you are certain that you can pull it off without any problems.

The last thing you want is to completely balls it up and have to start all over again and pay the professionals. Take care and keep your toilet safe in an appropriate location.

Use storage compartments to house remote controls, magazines, and other small items. Regularly curating and clearing the tabletop can also help maintain a tidy look.

A round or oval tray can add contrast and help break up the lines, while a rectangular or square tray can maintain a consistent geometry.

Choose coffee tables with hidden storage or use decorative boxes and trays that complement the room’s decor.
