Re-invent your bathroom with a breath of Eastern culture.

Japanese Style Bathrooms

I don’t know about you but I personally look forward to nothing else more than a nice relaxing bath after a long day’s work. You’ve been running around the place like a mad-man from the early morning and your energy is wearing thin. The idea of going home to a poorly decorated bathroom, with a pokey little shower and mildew all over the walls isn’t exactly going to give you that final burst of inspiration that you’ll be needing to make it through to the finish line.

If you feel like this is relevant to your life at the moment then perhaps it is time that you breathe a little bit of life into your bathroom. The fact that you are reading this article means that you have already taken your first curious step toward re-inventing your bathroom into something beautiful and rejuvenating in equal measure.

There are many different paths that you can take when looking at changing the style of your bathroom, with (literally) a world of various styles and designs at your disposal. One particular theme that I am rather fond of at the moment is: Japanese style bathrooms.

Before you panic, I am not talking about those creepy public bathrooms that you’ve seen so many pictures of – where all of the wash basins are shaped like a woman’s behind. I am talking about a gorgeous, traditional Japanese washroom designed to life the spirit and relax the soul. Check out the following image and you’ll know exactly what I am talking about!

Now, understandably some of you reading this are unlikely to have so much space to work with, however you can most certainly still follow the same type of design if you desire. The gorgeous greenery and floor to ceiling mirrors give off an eloquent and ‘ourdoorsey’ vibe – almost as though you are stepping into a hidden haven. I don’t know about you but if my bathroom looked like this, I’d never leave!

When exploring the Japanese themed bathroom you will discover a wealth of very different styles within this particular area. Take the following bathroom featured below for example and notice the vast difference between the two:

This bathroom is simply gorgeous and simplistic and as you can see – incredibly easy to maintain. This ‘wet room’ style is perfect as with a decent drainage system you won’t even need to clean up after yourself when you’re finished! As you’ll need to do is whip a mop around now and again to keep it nice and clean. Notice the slap of rock that has been utilised as a step into a bathtub: simple yet affective. An ideal choice for those with limited space who are looking to keep the clutter to a minimum, all you’ll need is a few vanity units to store all of your toiletries and you’ll be able to maintain that clutter free environment.
