A new development in bathroom design has drawn our attention to the horizontal shower. Spa-like and impressive in looks, this is real fantasy bathroom stuff.
But how would it work for you in reality? Surely the point and benefit of a shower is speed, ease and efficiency? would it be quite so useful if it involves lying down? Is the practical nature of the shower lost with this design?
According to the designers, Dornbracht – “For the first time, Horizontal Shower permits showering using the Ambiance Tuning Technique while reclining. The application combines six Water Bars recessed into a broad shower field above a reclining space, along with an eTool as the main operating element. Just as with Vertical Shower, with Horizontal Shower the user can also choose from among a variety of pre-programmed choreographies, offering a range of settings for water temperature, intensity and quantity. The user can decide from among Balancing, Energizing or De-Stressing effects”
Would you go for a horizontal shower given the choice, or do you prefer the more traditional bathroom concepts? A bath for relaxation and a shower for efficiency. Either way, it is certainly a beautiful and stylish design. What do you think?
