We love to stay in hotels and B&B’s, there is something so great about letting someone else worry about the small stuff. Those annoying jobs like making breakfast, washing up, changing the beds and cleaning the bathroom can all be handed over for a few days of lazy luxury.

But what makes a hotel room truly wonderful? For me it not just a comfy bed and a well-stocked mini bar, it is, yes you guessed it, the bathroom!

A well-finished, luxurious bathroom can make all the difference to your stay and your overall impression of your accommodation, it’s the little touches that make the difference. Decent fixtures such as a double headed shower, waterfall taps and heated mirrors help to make you feel spoilt and relaxed and elegant materials such as stone, mosaic or marble give a feeling of decadence.

Now unfortunately, we can’t claim to have stayed in all of these wonderful locations, but what we love to do is take inspiration from them. You can create that wonderful, decadent feeling of luxury in your own bathroom, without the hefty price tag.
